We were missing a place for catch-all knife discussions, so here it is. Use this area for technical questions, passing info, or just rambling about knives and knifemaking (not that any of us know how to do that). If someone wants to moderate, let me know.

If you need a Moderator for this forum, I will volunteer.

hey, Neil.
Glad to see you here. You will find this to be the friendliest, most open place on the web.

Put this in your signature block Blackwood Knives

It will turn your web link "live".

Hey Neil,
It's great to have you at the forums. If you get a chance, put a pic of some of your work in the Display Case Forum. I know everyone would enjoy it.

We'll look forward to having you as a regular here. Bob's right, this is the friendliest, most open place on the web.

Neil ...

What do you mean occasionally check in?

One of the conditions we agreed to in letting Bob Doggett hang around with us "high achievers" was that he promised that he could bring you in if we let him come too ...

Join us Neil! You're one of us ...

Thanks Bob...
My Site should be linked now :)

Terry,
VERY nice work! I enjoyed checking out your website!!!

Alex,
OK, OK.... I will stop by often...I just have to spend more time here than on that $@*(!*@ Ebay!!

My wife is picking up some NEW knife photos right now, I will probably scan them later and see how they look. With any luck 1 out of the 36 will be good enough to post ;)

Another moderator? With a picture? Man, I can see my worth here :(

Paul, We are talking about putting pictures in the image folder in Neil's web site instead of using Photopoint and adding Neil's bio to the CKD maker bio section. This has nothing to do with the forum.

Hey Kit,
You need to come in and shoot the breeze more often.

#####

What I'm trying to figure out is how the heck this old thread resurfaced. This thread was copied over from the old CKD forums when we changed to Knife Network. It was started on 12-30-2000 about a new forum we'd added to the CKD forums.

Now all of a sudden in 2005, the thing resurfaces with nothing related to the original post. Wierd stuff.

Hey, Bob. Hey, Neil. And, as my 4-year old says, "Hey is for horses."

Hey Bob,

You wouldn't be the Bob Doggett who used to run a bar in Joplin, Missouri and play darts until 6AM would you?

Andy

Laminated bamboo cutting boards may be a source for handles. We got several from Costco, i think, about 6 months ago. They were reasonable and if it works for knife handles, there would be a lot of slabs in the cutting boards. Don't know what laminate structure is on the inside of the blocks.

Hey, it's worth a try.

What kind of craziness is this? It is pretty surreal to see a thread started with your name knowing you haven't posted but once on the last few weeks. Doesn't help that it's 5am:)

Never been to Joplin, but say hello to me when you go there again.
