This is a test post on this subject. I want to start a forum and want to see the interest the subject garnishs.
I want to go in depth about shows, from both sides of the table, the promoters, etc. Dos and don'ts, etiquette as a buyer, what the buyer expects, what the maker/seller expects. We have a good mixture of both here, we should be able to make this into a forum that will be a resource for new and older participants of knife shows.
Let me know what you think.

Since the subject is somewhat finite, couldn't it be covered as a thread under this board?

Paul, I have to go with Don here. The Show posts are hot and heavy before and after a show, but non-existant in between. If a good set of rules can come up in a thread it might make sense to compile it as a tutorial. Kind of a do's and don'ts thing like we covered once in the Custom Collecting Forum. I think it would be a very light forum. What might be helpful is to have a Show List. The time, dates, location, links if any, and in the show calendar have a link to the show etiquette article.

Jerry- we *do* have a show list, but it's buried in the main CKD site. Maybe we can raise it to the surface somewhere.

Yeah ... you mean like on the forum header links?
Watch out ... I see a "snake" ... not a viper either!

I do's and don'ts is still a good idea. I've seen some posts about first shows and being nervous at them so it would make sense to talk about things from the knifemakers point of view. And of course from the show goers as well. After all we's an edumacting forum ain't we.

If someone starts a thread of Do's and Dont's of a show, I will take the compiled advice and put it into the tutorial section.
