I took the "Intro to Bladesmithing" class years ago. Jay Henderson was the teacher, also met Fisk, Cook, Moran, and others. Had one of the best times of my life during that two weeks. The ABS are a great bunch of people.

Question. Since you are Canadian and ABS the first word being American, is there a problem? Does the ABS accept foreign members??

No problem at all. We have members worldwide. Some folks don't know it, but you don't have to make knives to join either.

There are two membership categories. Regular membership which is $50 per year is for working bladesmiths. The second category is Associate membership. It's $20 per year and is for collectors and anyone interested in the forged blade.

Glad to see it. I've always sorta pondered over why........but belonging to organizations like the ABS seems to lend crediablity to a person in the public's eyes, that will only increase as you go through the JS and MS ranks. The way I look at it, one of my duties as an MS is to help others reach that goal! I'm there for ya brother!!
