Okay, since there is a "Techniques" page on BalisongInfo.com (http://balisonginfo.com), I figured I should either put something up there or nix it. Someone emailed me asking for help with the Y2K Rollover a couple of days ago. My first advice, as usual, was to visit BalisongXtreme (http://www.balisongxtreme.com), but they indicated that they still had problems with it. So I decided to attempt my first instructional vid since the Y2K is one of my favorite moves it made it a good candidate. You can find it here (http://www.balisonginfo.com/techniques.html). This one is encoded at 512 kbps but seems to maintain adequate quality. I did this in my room at night with very inadequate lighting and it shows. A lot grainier than my normal vids, but what I'm looking for is comments on the structure of the video itself. Does the video help you understand the technique (put yourself in the place of someone who doesn't know it). Also, you can even critique my own technique--am I teaching bad habits? I am planning on redoing it with better lighting so any comments are appreciated.
On a sidenote--I'd never dream of replacing BalisongXtreme so that's not the intent of this page. Also, maybe this'll light a fire under Icon's ass to get his instructional site going :p . BalisongXtreme is irreplaceable, but I thought that the quality that I get out of my vids may be useful to some people. Let me know what you guys think. Carry on :D .
ps...it's close to 9MB, so you may want to download it before watching it--it may not stream so well depending on your connection and Internet traffic.
