For the most part, I've only attended the Guild Show. This year I also attended the Blade Show in Atlanta. Since I'm full time now, what other shows should I consider? East, West, North, or South?
Thanks,
A.T.

Spirit of Steel in Mesquite, Texas in September. This is the second year, and tables are $175. Promises to be a good one.

Gator Cutlery Club Show in Lakeland FL. Tables are $75. Best deal around and a big show 100-125 tables.
Oregon Show
East Coast Custom Knife Show (kind of pricey, though).
PKA show in Denver if you are a member.
Badger show in Wisconsin.

It does sell out every year. I was on the waiting list for the last show and never got a table. I paid for next year's table at the show:)

I can only speak about the NY shows. Both are very good. They are pricey to attend, but I have been told by many knifemakers who go to them that they are worth it. The NY metro area has a large population and that translates into a lot of show attendees. The March Show ECCKS (East Coast Custom Show) is a little more on the art side of things. The November show (New York Custom Knife Show) has a more tactical bent. However, recently both shows have headed toward the middle ground and have both kinds of knives.

Can any one explain why the Spirit of Steel show starts on Thursday and ends on Saturday?
It seems to me that rules out the people that travel to the shows after they get off of work
on Friday. Except for the local people, that makes the show only two days.

I think the idea was to not have the show on Sunday, but still have a 3-day show. It will be a hardship for me- I will get there sometime Thursday, and miss part of what I am paying for- but I'm still looking forward to it.

The Austin show is a great show with 100 tables. From the looks of it in the advertisment there will be some great makers there. This will be my 1 year aniversary for the show which was the first show I ever purchased a table at.If you have a problem making the S.O.S. show try to make the Austin show.Good stuff.
I myself see no reason for the S.O.S. show to be Thurs. thru Sat.I am curious to see what happens. It was a great show for me Last year.I hope this year is the same.I hope to see you all there.
Sincerely,
Brad
