Well I have an Idea for a knife that involves natural forged finish blade flats ( for lack of a better word ) twist damascus guard, but the handle....I dunno....something sorta Ivoryish, or a dyed bone...I just seem to have a mental block...guess I`ve been away from it fer too long...thought about ivory micarta but I likes me natural handle material ;) I`m kinda going for the rustic and yet elegant?? ( again for lack of a better word ) I guess it`s too late for me...time for bed!

Forged finish on a blade connotes something historical to me...

I'd go with Ivory or a leather-covered wood... or a wire wrap. Dyed bone almost always looks modern.

I agree with Jonathan! Go for something natural looking.

I think that the ivory is a good idea, but I would use some fossil type ivory with come color in it. I just never liked a solid white handle with damascus. But that is just my personal taste.
