I have only become interested in knife making. I haven't taken the plunge and made one yet, but have been doing
a lot of reading and research. This sight is awsome! The knives displayed here are really works of art.
I am sure that in the weeks ahead I will have many questions. Thanks for the resource.

Welcome Dennis.
We are here to help, and to learn. There is no dumb question, so ask anything. There is a lot of talent in this group and we enjoy helping solve the problems of others. We also enjoy watching a person new to knifemaking turn into a talented knifemaker. You have really found the BEST place on the web or anywhere else for information and help. You just made a LOT of friends.
Glad to have you here.
You may want to go fill out your personal profile so the rest of us can know where you are from and how to contact you if need be. It really makes helping easier and the friendliness here results in a lot of personal discussions. There may be an experienced knifemaker in your area and you won't know it unless WE know where you are from.
Get ready, knifemaking is one hell of a good time.

I, too, am new, and will testify to the fact these are some nice folks, so don't be embarassed to ask questions.
Another piece of advice as you start to make knives:
every one is both a failure and a success. There's always something you don't like....correct that next time. On the other hand, each one gets better...you've learned.
No one here doesn't have a bin of failures somewhere in the shop......... unless they threw them out.
Welcome, and good luck.
