Ok, it is with a lot of pleasure and a little pain (it has already nicked me once!) that I introduce my latest prototype the X1 which Ricardo was good enough to make for me. I was so glad when Ricardo and Mauro consented to this project (conceived christmas eve!) and was even more glad when they turned it around very quickly and with such top notch execution.

This is a small balisong, with a cutting edge just under 2" (not including the approx 1" diameter finger choil). But for something so small it has a large amount of sharp and pointy parts! Mauro, not entirely happily, called this the most dangerous knife he's handled after it bit him twice in the first ten minutes of handling it. And with stainless handles, this thing feels *present* when it is in your hand.

I can't say how happy I am to see this design come to life. Mad thanks go to Ricardo and Mauro.

Yeah! It's scary, I'm pretty sure it's bitten everyone who's handled it for longer than 5 minutes!

It should not be too long now! Don't have any dates, but got a pic of the grind on the final pieces (it's been moved up a bit from that finger choil to prevent all the pokes it was giving folks). I'll keep y'all posted! :)

I just remembered another change - Ricardo said he'd experimented with black and tan overlays and said that they were much more beautiful than the black, so that's what we're going with! :)

8o Cool.., I'm preparing my fingers for a "red awakening"... 8o

Daily applications of Neosporin seem to bring on an early "buzz"... :)
