Does anyone have a link to a 5160 data sheet? I am most interested in normalizing temperature. I am guessing about 1650 F but don't know.

Thanks.

RL,

that number sounds a wee bit hi. let me look it up and i'll try and get back to you. i just moved most of my metals book to my office and that was a bad move. i use them more here than there. so they are comin' back home with me on monday. i'll try and remember to look that one up for you. it may be accessible on MATWEB.com??!! have a good one.

nate,

Thanks a bunch my freind but a couple others have come to my rescue on the ol'spring steel 5160. I was most concerned with normalizing temp.. That has been shown to me since I posted (1600 F in case anyone else is interested).

I appreciate you trying to help me out Nate.

This thread was interesting to me because I recently ordered several feet of 5160 from Kelly Cupples (nice guy by the way, and good service). I've done some initial pounding, and like the way it moves. Not quite like butter as some have said, but better than some 1095 I have. The normalizing temp is good info as that's the next step for me. Thanks!
