The metal is not very hard and was very easy to finish. Fitting and finishing the handle took longer than the head. Ghostdog, this was not a special order. I saw this rough forging in a friends truck and ask is I could buy it from him and play with it. The metal is to soft to make a good cutting tool but it will make a great digging tool for use with a metal detector or flower garden. I had 6 or 8 people wanting to buy it at the Guild show but I would not sell it----Thanks for all the comments, it was a fun project | |
