Here's a japanese stylish kitchen knife i recently finished. The blade is a convex ground sandwich construction. The sides are made of old bloom iron i got out of the restauration of the roof of a 15th century house. The center is made from roller bearing steel. The handle is caribou antler and pernambuco wood.

I wouldn't say that Achim! It looks like a very interesting kitchen knife. Something I would love to have in MY kitchen.

Thank you for showing it to us.

A great part of the joy of fine, handmade knives is the history of what went into them. Neat story on this very fine looking blade.

Achim, you are definetly a man of talent. I am glad you posted this image here because for some reason or other I can not get past your album cover page on imagestation. I see from the drop down there that you have several works pictured.

I wish my kitchen knives were as boring as yours

Actually I wish more makers would treat kitchen knives more seriously, they get used more than most other knives. I like your other boring kitchen knives too :)
