here is the knife I`ll be letting my butcher test out..it is also my first attempt at a hardening line. I used stove cement to get the clay hardening affect..lol...seemed to work then just quickely etched in some ferric chloride...COOL!
the blade is just short of 7 inches O-1

Great temper line, I generaly use an edge quench, haven't had much luck with clay.

Looks like a real hard worker.

Ron, How thin did you forge it out? I remember you saying you were going to A-2, what ever happened to the switch? Ray

thanks for the comments, the knife is 3/32 thick.I prolly won`t switch 100 percent to A-2 as I still like O-1, and right now I don`t have the heat treat for A-2 down good enough, I need to play with it a bit more.
