A few of us can't get away from the designs that took us to the dance. This knife is one that I have been building since the late 60's. Blade length is 4 1/4"....handle is 4 1/2". Handle is the most beautiful stablized wood I've seen...I believe it's Box Elder....bought this material at the Blade Show a couple of years back. Guard is nickle silver and the rivits are stainless steel. The blade is hollow ground and satin finished 440C. Guard and rivits are engraved. This is New Knife....Old Design and a great dance partner.....I'll continue making it as long folks keep wanting it.

Very pretty Jim. I think the old designs are timeless. They live on because they work. They've proven themselves.
Do you do engraving for other makers as well?

Terry is right Jim, the good ones are the ones from the past! And that knife there looks like one I would not mind having for myself!
Thanks for showing it to us.

Yes....I have engraved for other makers. Rade Hawkins...Tim Britton...Durvin Howard...and a number of collectors. Since 1985 my primary direction has been engraving. I used to make alot of knives...100 to 150 per year. Some years less.
Competition in the custom knife industry led me to choose another direction related to custom knives. Engraving guns, knives and jewerly have been good for me and at this time that is my main focus. Rade Hawkins has a knife in the photo contest I engraved for him a few months back....
I would be happy to talk with you. You can reach me at my e-mail address...or be happy to e-mail you some photos.
