Here's one of the blades I had the good fortune to part with too early at the NYC Show... The blade is made in a Viking style composite pattern although overall the knife is more of an artistic impression of the era...
One thing I've discovered about this construction is that with the high / low carbon Damascus in the back and the all high carbon edge I am in fact getting a softer spine without a differential heat-treatment or drawing back of the temper.
I had a couple duds that became experiments...
The wood is stabilized spalted oak and the cross-guard and pommel are damascus. The sheath is veg tanned with a sterling throat and it is adorned with an Australina boulder opal.
Steel for a steal at $800.00...
