Hi guys, I was hoping for some HI-PO feedback.

Here's a knife I posted in the Display Case. It has a bunch of technical things I threw in as performance features. I know from testing that it works for what it was intended and I am very happy with it.

Question is - are all those technical things worth the trouble ? I know from my previous testing that the same performance I have already reached with a straight flat ground blade with a convex edge.

Thanks in advance. Jason.

I THINK IT IS BEUTIFUL.THE EXTRAS REALY MAKE IT STAND OUT.THE ONLY THING I WOULD CHANGE IS THE FILE WORK.FILEWORK PROVIDES TRACTION WHEN THE KNIFE IS LITTLE USED BUT WHEN USED OFTEN IT CHEWS AWAY AT YOUR FINGERS.:D :) ;)

Hi Jason,

I studied the pics and feel that the combination of the distal taper and the modified Michael price grind make the knife look "slicker" (lighter, faster), while maintaining the balance and chopping characteristics of the full flat grind with convex edge and less distal taper.
This one looks better!
If you make a 10 incher in both shapes, the effect will be more obvious.

It's always been my experience that the more thought, effort and detail that goes into a knife, which can be shown to produce superior results, is always justfied. To just add them, without their having a demonstrably meaningful purpose, is a waste of time that might better be used on the details of fit and finish.

Opinions vary.

I like it. Nice looking knife!

A tapered tang could shift the ballance out toward the chopping section.
What Jerry said.
If the features serve a purpose, then the are worth it. The ability to chop heavy brush AND cut fine by the riccasso is one feature i have enjoyed in my Tai goo camp knife.
