Tim Adlam did a superb job on this piece. For a sense of scale, the overall length of the knife is 7". Blade is hand rubbed CPM S30V; 416SS bolsters, and sterling pins in ringed gidgee scales.

Thanks guys.

Don,

Those photos are a lot better than I could come up with!

This is the story...
Don wanted a couple of gold lines in the upper quadrant of the bolster with some scroll coming out of the corner.
While trying to figure out the design, I came up with the flower part in the corner.
When sketching scroll ideas, it hit me to do it all with inlay.
I wanted leaves with the scroll and the contrasting copper seemed to be a nice compliment with the gemstone.
I threw in the spray-like element to add a sense of movement.
The final problem was the ends of the gold lines.
I didn't want to just dead-end the lines, so I played with some ideas and came up with the pine cone drops,
keeping with the organic theme.
I width of the border lines are about .003
It was a pretty "intense" job!

I could imagine what this would look like on a blued bolster!

That is really cool Tim!!

It all came together very nice. The contrast with the copper and gold is real intense.

I like this one allot :)

Another beauty Don.
