I wanted to try something a little different on this 1911. I still have alot to do. As you can see I have commited myself to alot of gold work. The client wants full coverage. As many of you know the Colt 1911 offers a lot of space for the engraver to apply his art. This will be a story continued.
I have some photos of the inlay work in-progress...if folks are interested I will be glad to post them with an explanation.

That is going to be one very cool 1911!!!!

I love what your doing with the gold inlay!

looks like you have bitten off allot of work on this one. you'll have to let us know how many hours you end up with in the engraving.

I would love to see the in-progress photos. Inlay work is still an area I need to put allot more hours into.

Very nice Jim!! keep us up to speed on this one.

Nice work Jim. Please keep the pics coming. I need to start doing some gold work. I like the new style. You do some great leaves.

Looks great... Post all your pics. As a new engraver (being taught by Ron Nott), I am looking for as many examples of quality work as I can find.

Really great flow to the scroll.
