This is one I just finished for a customer in Michigan --It's the new Swamp Rat Bandicoot in Busse INFI steel, dressed in matching desert tan blade coat and handle.
Set up for left side carry, right hand crossdraw. Fiebings Golden Oak stain, with a beeswax 'n oil sealer, and 70 pound synthetic sinew saddle stitch.

very nice sheath, mike!
.
interesting that swamp rat is using infi steel - i thought jen was only using sr-101 on these to keep the price point down?
.
anyway, isn't that desert tan look something else?
thanx

Chuck - thank you sir -- it's been a while since I've posted on the Gallery!
Wayne-- right you are, the standard for SRKW is SR 101, these were a short run, advertised only on their site and sold out quickly. (No, they didn't hold the price point on this bunch) I got 2, this one was sold with the sheath --how's that for inverse marketing -- heheh -- buy a sheath and get a knife tossed in the deal :D

MTmike, Any chance of a rear view of that beautiful sheath? How is it set to hold on the belt at an angle? 'This is for an elk hunting knife for myself............carl

Carl -- that one's gone (to Swamper in Michigan, UP) but here are two that I'm working on. The one on the left is for a Bandicoot, right side carry, canted. The other is for a Barry Dawson fighter, similar style but no strap and set up for left side carry.
The belt loop is simple, but when you lay out the pattern you'll see that the folded part of the loop angles away from the body of the sheath to create the canted carry angle.
Look closely at the left side of the Bandicoot sheath back -- see the 4 extra stitches running up the belt loop? They hold in a short "wedge" that sets the carry angle on the belt. You can see the wedge above the welt in the Dawson sheath, it's only an inch long and 3/8 inch wide, but it keeps the angle of carry constant, no swinging back and forth.
Please post pics of your results -- love to see the new sheath :D

thanx for the update, mike. good idea on the wedge - at 1" long i'm guessing that the stitching doesn't catch it on the narrow end, right?

Wayne - thanks, and you're right, the "wedge" stitches are well out of the way of anything sharp and pointy, even on keeper-less sheaths like the Dawson..On shetahs with a keeper strap the stitching lies under the strap, so completely protected.
the first canted sheaths I made would rotate on the belt, from canted to vertical. Not bad i guess, but I wanted something to hold the canted angle -- the wedge serves that purpose just fine.
