Ok it's not very original and he's probably heard it a thousand times before but I couldn't resist.

Today I got my new toy and first new knife of the year. As you guessed made by Larry Chew www.knifecorner.com/larry...w-open.htm (http://www.knifecorner.com/larrychew/larry-chew-open.htm)
This folder was made as the "1999" Club knife for the TKCL (the Knife Collectors List) which is another knife organization of which I am a member. Some 20 or so were made

Just under 3" Damasteel (Swedish stainless steel) Damascus linerlock (purple/gold anodized titanium liners) - Damasteel bolster - G10 - filework - titanium cut-out "Chew style" clip.

As some of you may know Larry uses a needle bearing at the pivot, This means that the opening action is super smooth and fast. When Larry e-mailed to tell me it was shipped he said that he thought it was almost TOO smooth. If you push on the thumb stud hard enough (and it ain't that hard) it just flies completely open and locks.

This knife is just full of nice touches. The Thumb studs are inlaid with g10, which makes them nice and grippy. The Clip is of Larry's own design, ( www.knifecorner.com/larrychew/images/spitfire-clip-side_1.jpg (http://www.knifecorner.com/larrychew/images/spitfire-clip-side_1.jpg) ) it's a 2 piece affair with a spacer that raises the clip off of the knife body and the clip is mounted to this with 2 screws that go through the spacer body. The clip itself is skelotonized with a vaguegly diamond shaped main cut-out and above this a cut out Kanji Charater (which I think means Chew, but I'm not sure). The g-10 handle also has grooves cut into it also to aid in grip. It came razor sharp, I already shaved paper with it, and yes there is a slight recurve to the blade.

I've only had it for a half of a day and at work so I haven't been able to really try it out, but if you like a knife with mass you will like this. It is a little tank and feels heavier than it's size would dictate.

As I have always said life is too short for aggravation, which is why I would definatley recommend Larry Chew to anyone who would like a custom folder, the man is pleasure to do business with. He always e-mailed me back very quickly and we didn't just talk knives. Larry is a techie and uses AutoCAD in his design process and he's a gearhead too! He is one of the good ones. You should check out some of his automatics.
