I have not made any blades from 30V, yet. From what I have gleamed, it is a time consuming belt eating steel. Having ground Cruwear and Vascowear, had to upgrade my pricing for these blades by 125%. Pricing upgrade for used belts, but mostly labor cost. For an ex. $100.00 knife, 440-C, would now cost $225.00, from Cruwear. What would using 30V do to pricing structure for a standard pattern you make , using the $100.00 as a base? Thanks for any and all input.

I've just begun my experimenting with S30V, and was suprised to find that it was actually very easy to grind, at least compared to forged 52100. The zirconia belts I use on all my forged pieces work very well on S30. The price of the material itself is another thing.......if I decided to offer it, It will certainly increase the price of the finished product. The first thing I did was grind a couple of EBKs out of it, and it grinds almost like T-7 or T-8 aluminum, without clogging the belts. So far it appears very promising.....I'll know more once I actually have a full fledged test blade done and have absued it for a while.
