Here ya go Jerry :)

Well the weekend started for me about 5:30 saturday morning, with a drive from my place in London to Toronto 2 Hours northeast. The show doors opened at 9:00 for friends of the Guild, and 10:00 for the general public.
The Day was very busy with quite a steady crowd all day.
Some of the makers in attendance were (in no order)
MS Wally Hayes,GTreg Lightfoot, Brian Tighe,Brian Lyttle,Bud Weston ,John Freeman, our own George Tichbourne,Rick Frigualt,Thomas Haslinger and Many more.
Les and Bob of LDC custom knives presented awards for:

Best Tactical - Greg Lightfoot
Best Folder -Brian Tighe
Best of Show - Rod Olsen
Besy Utility - Jeff Diotte

All of the makers I talked to did very well the first Day, I believe the estimates were between 4-500 people through the Doors.

The Guilds annual Board meeting was that night, new probationary members were presented, and probationary members who were passed to Voting status were also presented,
I am happy to say that I am now a full voting member!
Les and Bob from LDC custom knives gave a very informative talk on "Trend in custom knives" for guild members,LDC also had a Table at the show.

The second day of the show went as the first, although the crowd was not as large there were still many sales.
I had a lot more time to talk to other makers on the second day. At the end of the day we did a draw for 2001 CKG collaboration Draw knife, the knife which was made by Wally Hayes,Greg lightfoot,Brian Lyttle,Brian Tighe. the tickets in the draw were only 5:00$(canadian) so some lucky show goer got this beauty:

Great job, Eric! Thanks for the info. I almost made it to Toronto myself, but just couldn't break away.

Thanks for the report Eric! Isn't Wally Hayes just the most unassuming guy you've ever met? I like his stuff so much I've got a sword on order with him. I'd like to see a photo of that "tanto" that Les was talking about.

Don, too bad you didn't make it, it would have been a pleasure to meet you. You should come to the Canadian Art knife invatational in July(I think?) thats Wolfegang Lorchners show, its a pleasant little show, relaxed.

Jerry, Wally is a great guy, like you said very unassuming, you won't be disappointed with anything from him!!
I'm not sure but I think this is the one Les mentioned

the Canadian National Art Knife Show is Aug. 4/5, 2001 which is the Civic Holiday Weekend in Ontario. The locations of the show is the Old Town Hall, Bayfield, Ont. Admission is $3. Usually there is also the opportunity to learn about, enjoy and participate in knife throwing with Tom Rose. Sat is 9-5 and Sun is 9-4.
Following the show many makers and collectors go to Wolfe's home for a huge roast pig carved by Brian Lyttle with a knife he creates and then raffles to raise funds for the event.

Some of the makers that often make this show include Wolfgang Loerchner, Kevin Cashen, Jose de Braga, Greg Lightfoot, Donald Bell, Peter Wile, Brian Tighe, Zaza Revishvili, Brian Lyttle, Rod Olson, Wally Hayes, Rick Frigault, John Freeman.

This is a very good event in a wonderful quaint little community on the shores of Lake Huron just North of Sarnia (across the river from Port Huron, Mi.)

Lots of good shopping for the family and good beaches.

Certainly an event that collectors and makers will enjoy.
