everything, at least when you busted your butt to make something to put it on. Now ive never done this so what is the easiest way (and inexpensive) way to put a logo on a blade.

If you are going to use a stamp, I just had mine made by Harper manufactoring for a flat rate of 100 dollars. For the detail in the stamp it was a steal.
the other two most used options are electro-etching and hand graving with some kind of motor tool (eg. dremel, foredom, etc)

how well does a stamp stay on (is it ink)

the stamp is made of steel and is struck with a hammer, either with or without some kind of press or frame to steady it. from an old post, the result is an impression like this:
