I got a neat old Gun Digest Book Of Knives from my dad. It from the mid 70s I think. Not sure exactly as the copyright date is in roman numerals....I hate those Anyways in one section they have current (from that time) knives of popular makers listed and the prices. Here are a few of them that will make you wish you would have bought them at the time.

Randall model 3.....40 dollars.

Centofante fixed blade with finger grooved handle....45 dollars.

Corby stag hunter....49 dollars.

Dozier stag hunter....85 dollars.

Goddard hunter with antler handle....27 dollars.

Herron model 1....40 dollars.

Moran hunter with silver and carved ivory....275 dollars.

Loveless drop point hunter....118 dollars.

Just thought that would be neat to share. I sure wish those knives were avaliable today at those prices.

Remember, the money was reletive to the time period. The same thing will hold true in 25 years ... probably more! :) Buy them now boys ... might be the only thing in life you can own and collect, for free.

Thats true that the cost was relative to the time period, but seeing some of these numbers still makes ya smile. Heres a couple more.

Ron Lake was mentioned as having really nice folders with prices starting at 85 dollars.

The author of one article mentions one of his favored folders is from Robert Ogg....with prices starting at 30 dollars!!!
