Here is a sheath that I did for my Randall Little Bear Bowie. It's suede lined as all good sheaths should be. ;o)
The retainer strap is positioned so it can't be cut when removing the blade, or snagged in the brush.

Who wants to guess what the hole is for at the back of the pointy end of the sheath? If you say "drain hole" then you're only 25% right!

Note the retainer strap skived and inserted between welt and back of sheath along with the front of the beltloop. It is, of course, five thicknesses thick at this point.
Edges - dead smooth to a "worn out" 600 grit finish. Edges just a neatsfoot finish and nothing else.
