I have an exquisitely made BURGER custom made knife. It has a higher relief carved ivory scales handles of a water buffalo scene. The pins and hilt are also highly engraved, the pins have the initials[PB] engraved on them this sheath is also marked. It is 10 1/4 inches long and the blade at the back is a quarter of an inch thick. I would appreciate any information you could give me on this fine custom knife. Maker? Where? When? Value? Etc. thank you very much dyan

I only know of four Custom knife makers named Burger. All are from So. Africa:
Fred and Barry Burger
Bill Burger (his daughter Sharon does scrimshaw)
Only Fred and Barry are related. Tiann is a member of the CKD, too.
The initials 'PB' probably stand for the engraver's initials. (another Burger?)
Others can fill in with whomever I've missed.
Pics? Send me one and I'll post it for you. It sounds like a magnificent knife.

I have contacted Sharon Burger, who I am currently doing a website for (her scrim is incredible!). She'll let me know if this is her scrim and her father's knife.
Will post her reply and try and get her online.
Oh, and, her site will be on my fathers site which now has a new address! http://www.robbrownknives.com.
Cheers for now.

I can't wait to see her work on your site. I have a Bill Burger carving knife set almost completed, and Sharon is to finish it with some of her 'magnifico' scrimshaw. Ahhhhh!
