Alex Bob Warner 08-25-2001, 08:52 PM I would like to see something on leatherwork of any kind. Especially how to tool it, treat it and even tan it. Anything would be great in my opinion. Please count my vote. YES No hanging chads here, I want it. MIKE KOLLER 08-26-2001, 01:20 AM I think it would be great ansoknives 08-26-2001, 04:14 PM I am in!! And I would be glad to write there too. dickknife 08-26-2001, 05:35 PM Being new at knife making, I would love info on sheath making. Mike Conner 08-26-2001, 07:02 PM I vote YES I need all the help I can get when it comes to leather. Let's do it Alex! Mike Knifemaker01 08-27-2001, 01:18 PM Sounds like a great idea!! Steve www.stevescutlery.com (http://www.stevescutlery.com) JerryO13 08-27-2001, 02:35 PM Alex, I like the idea, but don't limit it to just leatherwork. If Jens is willing, he does skin (frog, lizard etc) over kydex and see if Steve Filliceti (sp?) is willing his leatherwork is awesome! CKDadmin 08-27-2001, 03:48 PM Looks like some interest is heating up ... Alex ansoknives 08-28-2001, 01:48 AM I would be happy to share my work and write about the stuff I do and how I do it. Put me up for moderator along with a few others and we are set to go! Bob Warner 08-28-2001, 05:50 AM OK Alex, How much more support do we need? I will go recruit for the support because some of the people may not be reading this forum and that is why they have not thrown their name in the hat. We have several people wanting it. We have a volunteered moderator. How much more do we need? Roger Gregory 08-29-2001, 04:33 PM I've got a handful of knives without sheaths, two sheets of concealex that I've had for a year and a shoulder of veg-tanned leather on its way to me this week. So I'll be the first in the forum with all the questions :) Roger cgillock 08-31-2001, 03:55 PM I work fulltime building leather trunks & cases. Mostly 18th & 19th century stuff. I also make lots of other leather items. My items are all done by hand with period correct tools & materials. And would be willing to offer any help i can to this project. Bob Warner 08-31-2001, 07:42 PM What do we have to do to get you to say OK? We have interest and moderators, lets do it. Shadowenterprise 09-01-2001, 07:02 PM I will promote it! I believe there would be interest. Lot of people probably would like tips on sheath work, or modification :) Carrying the knife is a pretty important aspect! :smokin: CKDadmin 09-02-2001, 01:34 PM We need 2 moderators ... with skills! Jens, are you #1? Others? ... Alex ansoknives 09-02-2001, 03:09 PM I sure am....Don Cowles could be second...he knows sheaths! Don Cowles 09-02-2001, 08:05 PM ...and I volunteer. I'm interested in the leather sheaths for sure, but I'd also like info on Kydex, Concealex (sp?), silver sheaths, leather with silver tips and throats, etc. ansoknives 09-04-2001, 03:37 PM Good idea!..no reason why is should be only leather...I do leather, kydex and now wood for sheaths....I am sure there are people who could answer for the rest! primos 09-04-2001, 03:57 PM Wood! Yeah, I forgot about wood. I'd be real interested in that too. Don Cowles 09-04-2001, 04:05 PM OK, so, how about "The Sheath Shop"? :) JerryO13 09-04-2001, 05:45 PM Scabbards 'R Us :LOL Shadowenterprise 09-04-2001, 06:22 PM The Sheath Shop The place to find hints, tips, and ideas concerning the vast array of Sheath Making in general! or....
