DC, Thanks for the follow up pics. That hog is spooky looking! Nice tusks. Did the neph. have any comment on how the blade handled? It's gotta be scary getting that close to one of those beasties.

He said it worked great. He has tried some others and this size seemed the best for him.He told me this one went in clean with no problems from the ribs. He is sending me the tusks for more handle material.Dave:D

Steve, how ya doing? My nephew got this just north of you up by Crystal River. He said it looked to have some pot-bellied pig in it and one tusk had grown back into its face about an inch.Who knows with the nuclear power plant close bye. I have gotten some pretty wierd looking antler sets from him also.Dave:)

Dave, i thought that looked like it had some pig bellyed porker in it,,what threw me off were those wierd tusks.i have access to 40 acres just above the nuke plant south of chiefland in otter creek. if you ever want to go hog huntin, they average from 80 to 250 pounds.i can tell you now,i dod'nt have the gonads to take any of them on with a knife without a dog holding it down, but i do have a nice spear i made up there about 8 feet long i plan on using one day[hopefully not my last].we got electronic feeders out there with corn, so there abundant..let me know if you ever want to go kill a pig. [possibly mildly radioactive, but that kills any triginossis or burselleosis they may have, still taste good,it's all how you cook em!! ]
