I am planning to build a heat treating kiln and am wondering if somone has plans - suppliers - or any information or input regarding this topic. Thank you much Also what is a good method for treating ats-34...?

that I built. I got a lot of help from the Pottery Supply House, I believe they are a sub of euclid kilns. They were very helpful in material and advice.

Sorry I can't help you. ATS-34 heat treating info. should be easy to find. Try Admiral Steel's site, perhaps?

ATS-34 HARDENS AT 1975 DEGREES F. AND TEMPERS AT
500 DEGREES F. FOR 59 RC.

I took a ceramic kiln and put a pyrometer on it and cut a slot in the top for hanging my blades. I use it for normilizing steel and hardening the blade. I like this process as I know what the temp is during the process. I use a toaster for the draw with a meat thermometer. It was no problem at all and the kiln was used and a great price.
