I get frustrated to death every time a newcomer shows up as an "unregistered user" and I am unable to walk them through the steps required to register.

Maybe something already is in place- if so, could you point me to it?

If not, I'll undertake to write it up, but then where should I put it? Comments invited.

I've already done all the screen shots, and am writing the copy now.

Not sure where you plan to put this forum so the new people can find it easily, but I would like to suggest right on the front page of the "Custom Knife Directory Forum" right above where all of the forums are listed. Make it like a banner advertising the tutorial.

Or as a second suggestion, move the "General Knife Related Discussion" forum to the top of the forum list and put the tutorial as a sticky topic inside it.

Third, just make it a regular tutorial and we can direct people to it when someone starts asking questions.

Just a few ideas.
