From a newcomer to folding knives...

I am not happy with the appearance of the pins in some of my folding knife handles, particularly those that do not get sanded/polished flush. I read about "spinning" the pins on a drill press for shape and finish, but have not been successful at finding or making a spinning tool.

Any suggestions or other methods?

I'm always open to book suggestions also.

Thanks.

for the nicest domed pins, years ago i got this info from several makers...
peen the pins lightly to just roll over the edges and peen to a basic flattened dome shape. then put masking tape over the handle with fine sandpaper just sand the tape off the pin, or cut the tape off the pin with an exacto knife. buff in a spinning motiong so it smoothes the dome nicely. this way you dont buff the surrounding handle material and lower it. hope this helps. ue a sewn buff not the flimsy loose ones, stiffer buffs work better for this.
