SharpByCoop 06-11-2002, 01:36 PM ...but 'Junior Member' ??? Ugghhh. This looks good so far. Glad to be in on the 'secret'!! Thanks Alex! Coop Test pic posted, too. Terry Primos 06-11-2002, 02:15 PM I'm in. Looks good, though I have mixed emotions about the purple background. It reminds me of Sun Microsystems and my old job. :D Terry's Website (http://www.primosknives.com/) KNAdmin 06-11-2002, 02:32 PM Don't worry, the colors are just temporary. What user posting titles/volumes do you recommend? Alex Terry Primos 06-11-2002, 02:44 PM Let me make sure I'm following you first. Are you talking about user titles assigned according to number of posts? ShadowE 06-11-2002, 03:00 PM Rock on! I like the purple...... :D :D Steve 06-11-2002, 03:18 PM You have a winner, in my opinion. The "look" is very nice. Maybe play around with some other colors, purple is OK, but something else might be more "enjoyable," whatever that means.... You mean I might be able ot actually post a pic now? Yeeeha! (I might need a tutorial....) Looks like I don't know how to attach my sig. Gimme time.... Ansoknives 06-11-2002, 03:51 PM I liked the "founding member" title...I agree that Junior member sounds....well like you are in highschool or something....but aside from that...LOOKS GREAT ALEX!! mike koller 06-11-2002, 04:33 PM Well...Looks good, just will have to get use to a few new tricks. But heck I have been called easy once. Terry Hearn 06-11-2002, 06:01 PM I'm still here.:) I might not have been posting in awhile but I'm always around. Ed Caffrey 06-11-2002, 07:44 PM I got signed up too! Of couse I screwed up my user name..... I just got in from work and spelled my last name like I have to do at the base...... Maybe Alex can erase the "e" for me! :D I'm kinda liking the purple..... sorta mellow, easy on the eyes, and not loud. But, that's just me. The colors could be anything, and I'd still enjoy hanging out with all of you. The "junior" thing has gotta go. :p That's what I call my troops when they tick me off.......... "Hey Junior!" Lots of cool buttoms to play with, maybe some day I'll learn how to use them all. Great job Alex! As always...."You Da Man!" Terry Primos 06-11-2002, 08:10 PM Ed said ... Lots of cool buttoms to play with, maybe some day I'll learn how to use them all. I don't know if we're allowed to play with any buttoms here. :D What is a buttom anyway? mike koller 06-11-2002, 08:28 PM  You mean we can't play with the buttons yet? Well I ws going to say the email thingy, and private message thingy works, but I didn't click on any of those you see so I wouldn't know.:D ;) Terry Primos 06-11-2002, 08:49 PM No no, I was ribbing Ed about playing with "buttoms". The buttons work just fine. In fact I've ribbed Ed twice tonight. I've got to quit that. I know it's just a matter of tyme beefore I missspel a word. SharpByCoop 06-11-2002, 09:00 PM Back to the 'titles'... It's human nature to want to be 'normal', but nobody wants to be 'average'. :D I'd suggest some levels of status, starting with a new membership, then possibly growing in stature at a certain number of posts. Some examples: 0-100 Principal Member 100-500 Leading Member 500-1000 Premier Member 1000 + Outstanding Member 3000 + Too much time in front of the computer member.. You get the idea. Also, Moderators and Founding Members are very worthy. Guys? what do you think? Coop Andrew McLurkin 06-11-2002, 10:10 PM Purple? I thought it was blue gray. More evidence of my color blindness. Is HTML going to stay off in the personal signature feature? dogman 06-11-2002, 11:00 PM testing dogman account done ... mike koller 06-11-2002, 11:18 PM Titles.... A title according to number of post....My personal opinion is that bites. Lets say Ed,Steve,Don,.... gets ask a zillion ?????? by the same person and they answer them all in one post. Lets see, that happens several times, so the average member is answering questions for the elite members. Hmmm Just my 2 cents... Steve 06-11-2002, 11:54 PM How about if we're all just "members," or "friends," or "enthusiasts?" Not one of us knows it all...... Jerry Hossom 06-12-2002, 06:33 AM Hmm, it didn't want to let me in last night, but all is well now... Jerry Hossom 06-12-2002, 06:36 AM retest after changing my password. Terry Primos 06-12-2002, 07:29 AM Testing signature ... Bob Warner 06-12-2002, 07:54 AM I like gray colors but it won't kill me to see something other. I just want it to look professional. I read somewhere (Who know where) that gray and maroon made for good "Professional" color combinations for web sites, they may work here as well. Maybe Ed can come up with a CKD design in damascus and we could use that for the background. Like the way I volunteered Ed? Terry Primos 06-12-2002, 08:40 AM I hate to admit it, but I'm starting to get used to the pastel purple. I hope I don't start liking pink. :D I've seen damascus backgrounds, and believe me, after a short while it will really start to make your head hurt. The best backgrounds are subtle colors. You don't even realize they are there. It just makes you feel good and you don't even know why. dogman 06-12-2002, 07:27 PM test SharpByCoop 06-13-2002, 07:24 AM On colors, my own preference is light pastels as well. If I had a color choice I would include earth tones. Much of the knifeworld is filled with hues of brown and tan. (Bob likes the grey 'handrubbed' finishes!;)) I'm getting used to even the purple. I find the upper directory text in black hard to read in contrast--white would be better? I also don't love the grey background in this posting window. I want a clean sheet of white paper for my writing... I'll enjoy all of this no matter what, but since it's been brought up... Coop | |
