Hi Jim,
What steels do you use? Why do you tack weld them? I just stack them into the can and fill around it with powdered 1095 and nickel. How big of a can is this?

Hi Chris, didn't mean to give you the wrong idea. That's not my canned damascus. It's a picture I took while some guys were putting it together at Jim C's. I was told the reason why they welded it was to keep everything in place before they filled it with powdered steel. 15N20 and 1080. Four inch by four inch can that was 6 inches tall.
