My name is Phil Tham (that's pronounced "sam" with a lisp). I started making knives in March 2001, so I'm a relative newcomer to the trade. I enjoyed making furniture and chip carving long before I tried my hand at knife making. I'm a native Texan and have a wife and 2 kids that are almost grown now. We are currently living in Dripping Springs which is located approximately 20 miles west of Austin in the Texas hill country. I have a "regular" job and make knives in my spare time. I'm a member of the Texas Knifemaker and Collectors Association and have learned most of what I know about making knives through other knife makers, reading, and through trial and error. I have recently started making folding knives and hope to begin forging and making my own damascus steel soon. Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.
