Arpad is not a man of this
century. Why? Well, being a full time maker and producing
only 8 to 12 knives a year is part of it but the really
unusual throw back is that Arpad uses only hammer and
chisel for his knife making. No power tools!. Arpad sculpts
steel and organic materials into various classical expressions
of mythology, history and scenes of nature as was done
centuries ago. His works reflect none of the slickness
seen in so many sculpted knives and in that he has no
peer, these are true investment quality works of art.
If one were to be visiting any major museum in the world
and viewing the arms and armor section and thusly happening
upon one of his works in the museum case, not an eye
brow would be lifted due to the authenticity his works
portray. He will use 10 or more various metals and organic
materials in each knife in ways that amplify and highlight
the specific theme he is portraying. Owning a Bojtos
knife is quite fascinating in the way that each time
one views the knife, one sees new particulars not seen
at the previous viewing. Arpad is a member of the U.
S. Knifemakers Guild and comes to the US to a show once
each year.
